3. denemesinde Microsoft nihayet kullanılabilirlik, güç ve portabilite arasındaki dengeyi kurmuş. Temel değerlerle konuşulduğunda Microsoft Surface Pro 3 için eleştirilebilecek bir şey yok. Gördüğümüz en iyi yapım kalitesine sahip en çekici cihazlardan biri. 

Tüm bunların üstüne daha geniş ekranla 3:2 ekran oranına, daha iyi dijital kaleme ve iyileştirilmiş sehpa fonksiyonlarına sahip. Üstelik %35 daha ince. 

Ancak notebookları tahtından etme amacına halen ulaşılabilecek gibi değil. Başarısına rağmen çok ince olmanın getirdiği dezavantajları taşıyor. Isınmayı önlemek için aktif soğutma kullanılmış ancak yeterli değil. Isınma her ne kadar kullanıcıya yansımasa da, donanımsal olarak performansın kısıtlanmasına sebep oluyor.

Dönüştürülebilir bir tablet gibi düşünüldüğünde büyük bir başarı. Ancak bir tablet veya bir laptop olarak ele alındığında açıkları var. İşlemcisi ve grafik kartı kendinden biraz büyük ultrabooklarla yarışabilecek gibi değil.

Modern tabletlerle kıyaslandığında ise daha ağır, büyük ve fişten çok uzun süre uzak kalamıyor. Ayrıca ortalama kullanımda bile çok ısınabiliyor.
