The ability to run the latest games with little sacrifices in image quality is a huge boon, and ASUS's Republic of Gamers bundle - which includes a gaming mouse, a SteelSeries Siberia headset and a RoG backpack - makes it a complete mobile gaming solution.

EN→TRThroughout testing, we found this laptop to be a pleasure to work with. It combines attractive looks and superior gaming performance with an ambitious price point that leaves the competitive offerings a little flat. Though we were surprised to find that Asus didn't bundle any movie player software for the Blu-ray drive, we're hoping the bundle will include that in future SKUs of the product. And battery life could be improved upon, along with perhaps an SSD option for the top of the line model. But in our opinion, this product is the sweet spot for enthusiasts who want the most laptop for their moolah, without having to take on a second mortgage.

A giant, all-black 17-inch full HD wide-screen gaming laptop with a Core i7 processor, 8GB of memory, dual 7,200rpm 500GB hard drives, a Blu-ray combo drive, and a 1GB ATI Radeon HD5870 graphics card for $1,700 is tough to ignore. Other than some niggling design complaints, the Asus G73JH-A1 is an excellent high-performance desktop replacement for gaming or other demanding tasks.

There are a few flaws like missing features—if you want FireWire, eSATA, USB3, or ExpressCard you'll need to go elsewhere. We also would have liked a Blu-ray combo drive, although it sounds like that will be available with other models (it should add ~$100 to the price).

The keyboard is pleasant to type on and the screen is beautiful. The G73JH has strong build quality and the stealth-like design is unique. ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870: Üst sınıf DirectX 11 grafik kartı. Masaüstü HD5770 üzerine kurulmuş. 128 Bitlik bellek yüzünden sadece GDDR5 bellek ile çok hızlı.
Şu anki yüksek kalite masa üstü ekran kartları ile (7900 veya X1900 gibi) kıyaslanılabilirler. Hemen hemen aynı çekirdeğe sahip olsalarda, clock hızları farklı olduğu için biraz yavaş kaldıkları aşikar. Yeni oyunlar ( F.E.A.R., Company of Heroes gibi) yüksek çözünürlük ve full detaylarda çalışacaktır.

720QM: Core i7-720QM, 2009 yılı içerisinde karşımıza Core i7 Quad çekirdeğin en yavaş üyesi olarak karşımıza çıkıyor. 1.6 ile 2.8 GHz aralığındaki saat hızı ile yavaş bir 4 çekirdekli işlemci olmakla beraber hızlı bir tek çekirdekli işlemci olmanın özelliklerinin avantajlarına sahip. Daha hızlı Core i7 işlemcilerle kıyaslandığında 720QM sadece 6MB L3 Cache kapasitesine sahip.
