Alienware doesn’t shy away when it comes to going nuts with its aesthetic, while still establishing itself as a top-tier PC manufacturer. The new m15 certainly reflects those two aspects, and is certainly one to look out for should you be looking for a new laptop.

The Alienware m15 R2 feels like a luxury machine, and it's priced accordingly. If price is no object for you, I think you'll be very happy with Alienware's unique look and build. But if you're looking to get a more well-rounded laptop for your money, this isn't quite it.

Thanks to all of that extra-fast hardware, the Alienware m15 R2 turns in the best performance we've seen in a 15" notebook. The system's good looks, excellent performance, and gorgeous display option make for an extremely attractive package, too. If you're in the market for a well-endowed notebook to take to your dorm or your next LAN party, this Alienware notebook should be on your short list of systems to check out. For that reason, we bestow upon the m15 R2 Hot Hardware's Approved award.

We were immediately impressed by the Alienware m15 R2 when we first saw it at Computex 2019. Now having used it at home in the real world, it certainly didn't disappoint. Apart from a few minor niggles with battery life, a small main drive, and odd issues with footage capture, it's an absolute marvel of a machine. The 4K display option is absolutely stunning, HDR, ray tracing and eye-tracking are all added bonuses. The m15 R2 manages to perform well under pressure and without a typically obnoxious loud fan. Not that things don't get noisy if you really want them to of course. There's no doubt that on looks alone, both on-screen and off, the m15 R2 is well worth your investment. It will cost you a pretty penny though.
