The last of a dying breed, the ASUS Eee PC 1025C Flare demonstrates why tablets have superceded netbooks as the lightweight computing device of choice -- pound for pound, slates offer faster performance, sleeker designs and more intuitive touch interfaces. Still, if you're in the market for a compact laptop that costs a third of the price of an Ultrabook, the Eee PC 1025C is worth a look. It can handle basic tasks with ease, weighs only 2.4 pounds and lasts more than three hours longer on the charge than the average netbook. Not bad for a laptop that costs less than $300.

Once upon a time, cheap, tiny laptops ruled the land, acting as travel, backup, and kids' computers to millions, and completely upending what consumers expected to pay for a PC. Asus brought Netbooks into the world, and with the last-gasp Eee PC 1025C Flare, it looks like it's going to take them out as well.

As I’ve mentioned at the beginning of this review, the 1025C is going to be Asus’s work-horse in the netbooks’ segment in 2012. It brings most of the features Asus can squeeze on these machines, a latest generation hardware platform and a good overall price, although I’m sure others will be able to beat it for on-par configurations (and yes, I’m thinking about Acer, with their D270 Aspire One).

Asus 1025CE review – best 10 inch EEE PC so far, but…

In the end, I feel like the EEE CP 1025CE is a solid mini laptop, one of the best, if not the best netbook I’ve ever seen. Hardware and specs wise, Asus did a great job: the mini laptop is solid built and looks good, the screen is surprisingly good for this class and the keyboard/trackpad combo aren’t bad either. However, there are some issues. The biggest is the hardware platform, which is also the big novelty. Like I said in the Hardware section, the CedarTrail platform is no revolution, so you shouldn’t expect a huge boost in performances from the little fellow. It does offer better graphics in an efficient pack, but that’s basically all. And only to some extent actually, as drivers are an issue that might not get solved that soon, as Intel is said to focus more on getting ready for Windows 8, than developing drivers for netbooks on Windows 7. Of course, I might be wrong here, only time will tell.

ASUS may have invented netbooks, but today its offerings like the ASUS Eee PC 1025C-GRY041S simply aren’t that impressive. It’s got a decent enough new processor, but overall the small battery capacity and poor input devices render it a mostly uninteresting option. The 1025C is built solidly enough, but the tiny keys on the cramped keyboard can make typos reasonably frequent and the touchpad is intermittently not very sensitive.

Asus İnceleme

Bu tür grafik kaetları oyunlar için pek ideal değil. Eğer bir oyunu çalıştıracak olurlarsa ya grafiksel hatalarla ya da düşük frame oranlarıyla çalıştırabilirler. Oyuncular için uygun değiller. Ofis ve internet ise oyunların aksine bu GPU lar için sorun değil.

Intel Atom serisi 64-Bit bir işlemci olup UMPC ve MID türü gibi küçük notebooklar için ucuz bir işlemci alternatifidir. Yeni mimarinin özelliği “in order” uygulamasını kullanması. Böylece transistor sayısı azaltılıp, daha ucuz bir üretim mümkün.
