So, sure, you have a very nice display, reasonable battery life, and somewhat comfortable input devices. However, we would certainly not recommend this machine because of its cooling issues. We’re not sure whether the issue concerns the thermal compound in use or just a poor design. Basically, you’re better off picking an ASUS TUF A15/A17, or the Legion Y540 (15) from last year.

However, if you’re constantly on the move, you would have to lug around the huge power adapter, which is a turn-off for some. With all that being said, our variant of the Dell G15 gaming laptop priced at RM4849 certainly gets the job done for gaming and general productivity workloads. If you like the design of the Dell G15 but want something cheaper, you can opt for the GTX 1650 variant that’s priced at RM3849 instead. Alternatively, you could opt for the ASUS TUF F15, which comes with an Intel Core i7-11800H processor, up to an RTX 3060, and 144Hz display from the price of RM4199. If you want a laptop that has both the looks and the performance, then the ASUS Zephyrus G14, priced from RM4799, would be a better candidate.

For its price, the Dell G15 Ryzen Edition is actually not bad. I would recommend going for at least 16GB of dual-channel memory if you care about rock steady performance. Not only will it help in gaming, it will also be great for web browsing if you happen to be someone who has to deal with a lot of Chrome tabs. For consumers who are looking for something that isn’t too expensive, but powerful enough to handle everyday tasks as well as most gaming titles with ease, the Dell G15 Ryzen Edition is not going to disappoint. The AMD Ryzen 5600H is a pretty capable chipset and can deliver great raw performance and it pairs well with the RTX 3050 GPU. There are a few concerns that you need to consider. Firstly, it isn’t great for portability as it is quite chunky, at the same time, the battery life is not impressive. Hence, this notebook is great for someone who needs a desktop replacement. In fact, I would definitely suggest hooking it to an external monitor with a good mouse and keyboard combo. The display is also somewhat of a compromise, but at least Dell offers the option of upgrading to a better panel.

If we have to be completely frank, Dell did surprise us with this one. They fixed arguably the biggest issue of their gaming notebooks – the cooling. This allows for more powerful GPUs to be used, which is perfect, considering the wide range of TGP options from NVIDIA this year. And we were absolutely right to be excited about the high TGP RTX 3050 Ti used inside of this device. It runs at very high frequencies and delivers a very good performance in games. Ultimately, this makes it the perfect entry-to-mid-range gaming option. Additionally, the smaller battery (56Wh) achieves 8 hours and 20 minutes of Web browsing, and 8 hours and 3 minutes of video playback, which is also great for a gaming machine. Dell G15 5515’s 120Hz display option (Innolux 7XGNJ-156HRA (CMN1522)) has a Full HD resolution, comfortable viewing angles, and a very good contrast ratio.

If your main purpose is to get a relatively affordable gaming laptop, then the G15 5511 is a great choice. It offers great performance, even with the RTX 3050 Ti. And it manages to stay cool at the same time. Interestingly, even though there was a VBIOS update for the graphics card, we were still unable to hit the 95W TGP limit. This time, there was more headroom in the cooling, even though the GPU was consuming more than 10W more power, and the frequency was slightly higher. You should keep in mind that neither the keyboard, nor the touchpad is gaming-worthy, and we advise on getting at least an external mouse. Also, the all-plastic build is a bit heavy for the class, especially in 2021. Nevertheless, the upgrade options that include two SODIMM slots for memory, and two M.2 slots for storage expansion, are great. Unfortunately, if you need to service your laptop’s thermal paste in the future, you have to brace yourself for a long process. It’s not difficult, but the reasons to put the cooling on the inside part of the motherboard are puzzling for us.

Nvidia’nın GeForce GTX 1650 ekran kartının yer aldığı bilgisayarda Intel Core i5-10200H işlemcisi bulunuyor. Daha üst düzey özelliklere sahip G15 modelleri de piyasada satılsa da bu modeller incelediğimiz bilgisayardan daha yüksek fiyata satılıyor.

Evet, toparlayacak olursak Dell G15 5510, gayet dengeli bir oyuncu bilgisayarı olarak karşımıza çıkıyor.
