Because of their size and weight it's inevitable that compromises must be made somewhere and even when they aren't, as with the Sony VAIO TT, the cost could be deemed prohibitive depending on your standpoint. Not that there are any cheap ultra-portables, with today's candidate, the Dell Latitude E4200, being no different. This is the minnow of the Latitude range that saw a promising start in the shape of the E6400 -- the all singing, all dancing, all-rounder of the Latitude range. So long as you don't need an optical drive, the E4200 is an ideal option for the serious businessperson on the move.

Gone are the dull grey boxes that used to typify Dell's Latitude range, to be replaced by stunning machines like this E4200. Its rich finish - a deep burgundy red in our review sample's case - will make an immediate and positive impression on any clients you visit, which is surely one of the aims of a modern-day business laptop. A striking laptop that's also incredibly portable. But the screen is a big disappointment.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500MHD: GM45 çipsetine (Montevina) kurulmuş, onboard (paylaşımlı) grafik kartı. 2 adet daha fazla shadera sahip olması ve daha yüksek saat hızından ötürü GMA X3100 den oldukça hızlı. Yinede oyuncular için (DirectX 10 oyunları oynanamaz, oynansa bile çok düşük detaylarda) önerilebilir olduğu söylenemez. Dahili video işlemcisi, düşük hızlı işlemcilere HD video decode (AVC/VC-2/MPEG2) işlemleri sırasında yardımcı olarak Blu-Ray medyaların akıcı şekilde oynatılmasını sağlıyor.
Sadece eski oyunlar bu grafik kartları ile akıcı bir şekilde (eğer yüksek bir sistem gereksinimi duymuyorlarsa) oynanabilir.
