In today’s mobile computing world, due to a myriad of reasons, consumers have begun demanding more while also making due with less. Build quality, ease of use and design appeal are gradually replacing adaptability and raw performance. Some may argue this current move towards “Appleization” has meant less customization, higher prices and a gradual slide towards one-size-fits all devices but the Envy 6 has proven those detractors wrong.

HP’s attempt to tackle the Ultrabook for half the price is admirable, but its budget cuts are evident in several key areas: the screen mixes mediocre quality with a low resolution, good design and build quality is matched with iffy ergonomics, and the AMD APU combines poor application performance with good graphical grunt.

That display puts a dampener on proceedings, but HP Envy 6 plays its trump card at the checkout. At £499 inc VAT, this laptop is substantially cheaper than the Ultrabooks it imitates. The AMD processor lags behind its Intel rivals for raw processing power, but with ample performance for everyday tasks and capable gaming potential, it isn’t hard to see the appeal. If you’re searching for a slim, stylish machine that’s more affordable than Intel-based rivals, this is a fine compromise.

HP proves that AMD can play in the sleek ultraportable game just as well as Intel. Performance might not be quite on the same level, but the HP Envy 6-1006ea Sleekbook makes up for this with a cheaper price and longer battery life. Overall, it’s an attractive, well-built and very affordable machine, and definitely recommended if you’re after a light and stylish 15-inch laptop.

AMD Radeon HD 7500G: Trinity ULV-A6 serisi iþlemcilerde kullanýlan iþlemci grafik kartý. Radeon HD 6900 masaüstü serisinde kullanýlan VLIW4 mimarisi üzerine kurulmuþ.

Çok seçici olmayan oyunlar akıcı olarak oynanabilir. Ama düşük çözünürlüğe ve dolayısıyla düşük detaylara hazır olun. Yine de bu kartlar ofis ve video görüntüleme (HD Videolar içinde uygun olduğu söylenebilir) konularında yeterli performansı veriyor.
