With its asking price of £309, the HP Mini 210 is almost unbeatable, but it could use some more features. In particular, we'd like 802.11n Wi-Fi, an integrated 3G modem, and a USB Sleep-and-Charge-style port would be very useful for travellers. But as far as design and ease of use are concerned, the HP Mini 210 is excellent. It's a vast improvement over the Mini 110.

The $384 HP Mini 210 combines an attractive netbook chassis with one of the best keyboards in its class, and it offers an HD screen and high-def video playback at a reasonable price. If you don’t need HD capabilities, for $85 less you can get an ASUS Eee PC 1001P, which also boasts an excellent keyboard, performs slightly better, and lasts almost 2 hours longer. In this price range we prefer the Toshiba mini NB305 because of its better ergonomics and cooler running temperatures, but if you want a little more multimedia muscle from your netbook, the Mini 210 is a worthwhile choice.

Although it has standard specifications, its look and feel are very different to most netbooks', and it's a much more refined product than the netbook it replaces (the HP Mini 110). Overall I like where HP is going with the Mini 210, but I have some problems with this computer. I like how it looks, but the scuffs on the exterior were bothersome and I enjoy the portability, but the extended battery would have really helped as the computer kept dying on me whenever I took it away from my desk. Similar to the the battery life, poor performance and video playback problems could have been avoided with minor upgrades–in fact less than $100 in upgrades would have made this a much better computer.

The HP Mini 210 HD is an attractive little computer with decent performance and an excellent display. What’s more, this may be the first time I’ve used a netbook and decided not to hold its integrated touchpad buttons against it. Don’t get me wrong — I would really like the HP Mini 210 HD a lot more if it had separate left and right buttons. But the experience of using the touchpad wasn’t that bad, and I’m giving HP a lot of credit for producing a 10 inch netbook with a high resolution display and a relatively low starting price.

What’s more, this may be the first time I’ve used a netbook and decided not to hold its integrated touchpad buttons against it. Don’t get me wrong — I would really like the HP Mini 210 HD a lot more if it had separate left and right buttons. But the experience of using the touchpad wasn’t that bad, and I’m giving HP a lot of credit for producing a 10 inch netbook with a high resolution display and a relatively low starting price.

The HP Mini 210's top-end version that we've tested sells for Rs. 19,999. Although it is around Rs. 5,000 more than a usual Netbook, what you get in return is worth it. The excellent keyboard, the responsive touch-pad, the sturdy build quality and charming looks, not to forget the slightly better internals. If you're looking for a Netbook and are willing to spend a little more for finesse, then the Mini 210 will not disappoint. The standout feature of the HP Mini is the sound quality – it really has to be heard to be believed – so as a portable entertainment machine, it represents good value for money.

HP: Daha çok HP adı ile bilinen Hewlett-Packard şirketi 1935 yılında kurulan, merkezi Kaliforniya ABD olan bir teknoloji şirketi. HP özellikle veri depolama, network ürünleri, yazılım ve diğer servisler konusunda uzmanlaşmış durumda. Büyük ürün segmentlerinin içinde kişisel bilgisayarlar, serverlar, yazıcılar ve diğer görselleştirmeye yönelik cihazlar bulunmakta. Diğer ürünler ise: elektronik test ekipmanları ve sistemleri, medical elektronik ekipmanlar, kimyasal analizler için bileşenler ve enstrümanlar olarak sıralanabilir. HP 2006 yılında 91.7 milyar dolarlık geliri ile kendini dünyanın en büyük teknoloji üreticisi olarak duyurdu. 2007 yılında da 104 milyar dolarlık geliri ile 100 milyar dolar gelir seviyesini aşan ilk IT firması olarak adından söz ettirdi. 2007 yılında (IDC tarafından yapılan araştırmaya göre) ki Pazar payları: HP 18.9 %, Dell 16.4 %, Acer 9.9 %, Lenovo 7.5 %, Apple 5.7 %
Bu tür grafik kaetları oyunlar için pek ideal değil. Eğer bir oyunu çalıştıracak olurlarsa ya grafiksel hatalarla ya da düşük frame oranlarıyla çalıştırabilirler. Oyuncular için uygun değiller. Ofis ve internet ise oyunların aksine bu GPU lar için sorun değil.
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 3150: Dahili (paylaşımlı bellekli) Intel Atom N4xx serisi işlemcilerde kullanılan grafik kartı. Eski GMA 950lere nazaran biraz daha hızlı ve bu yüzden 3D oyunlar veya HD videolar için uygun değil (sadece MPEG2 desteği mevcut)
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 3650:
Dahili işlemci grafik kartı. Harici belleği bulunmamakta. Büyük ihtimalle GMA 500 benzeri PowerVR tasarımı tabanlı ancak daha yüksek saat hızına sahip.
Sadece eski oyunlar bu grafik kartları ile akıcı bir şekilde (eğer yüksek bir sistem gereksinimi duymuyorlarsa) oynanabilir. Intel Atom:
Intel Atom serisi 64-Bit bir işlemci olup UMPC ve MID türü gibi küçük notebooklar için ucuz bir işlemci alternatifidir. Yeni mimarinin özelliği “in order” uygulamasını kullanması. Böylece transistor sayısı azaltılıp, daha ucuz bir üretim mümkün.
N450: GMA 3150 GPU ve dahili bellek kontrolörüne sahip Netbooklar için üretilen Intel Atom serisi işlemci. Sistem performansı Atom N280 / GMA 950 kombinasyonundan sadece biraz daha hızlı.
N470: GMA 3150 ve dahili bellek kontrolörüne sahip, gelecek nesil Atom işlemci. Performansı Atom Z450 1.86 GHz ile kıyaslanabilir ve N450’den 5-10% daha iyi denebilir.
N550: Sadece 8.5 Watt güç tüketimi olan Dual Core Atom işlemci. 1.5 GHz gibi düşük saat hızından ötürü bazen N465 Atom işlemciden bile daha yavaş.
N475: DDR3 bellek kontrolörlü, GMA 3150 grafik kartına sahip gelecek nesil Atom işlemci. İşlemcinin performansı şu anki 1.86 GHz Atom Z450’den biraz daha hızlı olacaktır.
N570: Atom 550’den biraz daha yüksek saat hızına sahip, dual core Atom işlemci. Bu yönünden ötürü performansı CULV işlemcilerden geride kalmakta.
N2800:
