HP's Pavilion dv6-2190us is one of many new affordable higher performance laptops available with the new quad core Core i7 processor. Performance is very strong but the system does run hot and requires a very large power adapter to be carried around frequently due to its limited battery life. It would have been nice to see HP upgrade more aspects of the system from previous versions but it does offer a fair amount of functions for those not wanting to spend much more than $1000 on a laptop.

The DV6 is the most powerful laptop I have ever owned and used.
The laptop will definitely work well for the type of computer activities that I do:
buring DVD's, programming, video converison, picture editing, etc. I love the laptop. I new i was buying a desktop replacement with a lot of power but limited battery life.

NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M: Nividia GeForce GT 230M, GT216 çekirdeğine üzerine yapılandırılmış DirectX 10.1 uyumlu bir grafik kartı. 48 shader çekirdeği sayesinde GT 130M'e oranla farkedilir şekilde daha iyi bir performans sunmakta. 40nm üretim teknolojisi sayesinde daha yüksek performans aynı seviyede güç tüketimi ile sunulabilmekte.
GT230M'in GT216 şeklinde adlandırılan çekirdeği Nvidia'ya göre şu an masa üstlerinde kullanılan gelişmiş kartlarla aynı mimariye sahip (GTX 200 serisi).

Çok seçici olmayan oyunlar akıcı olarak oynanabilir. Ama düşük çözünürlüğe ve dolayısıyla düşük detaylara hazır olun. Yine de bu kartlar ofis ve video görüntüleme (HD Videolar içinde uygun olduğu söylenebilir) konularında yeterli performansı veriyor.

720QM: Core i7-720QM, 2009 yılı içerisinde karşımıza Core i7 Quad çekirdeğin en yavaş üyesi olarak karşımıza çıkıyor. 1.6 ile 2.8 GHz aralığındaki saat hızı ile yavaş bir 4 çekirdekli işlemci olmakla beraber hızlı bir tek çekirdekli işlemci olmanın özelliklerinin avantajlarına sahip. Daha hızlı Core i7 işlemcilerle kıyaslandığında 720QM sadece 6MB L3 Cache kapasitesine sahip.
