With a blend of strong performance and premium features, the HP Pavilion dv6t Select Edition gives you horsepower for both productivity and play, thanks to an Intel Core i5 processor and AMD discrete GPU. High-end features like Wireless Display technology and Beats Audio are just icing on the cake. You may find that the Editors' Choice Dell XPS 15z gives you better performance and longer battery life, but the dv6t-SE is still a compelling package.

Overall, the HP Pavilion dv6 offers a pleasing package at $800, with a plethora of ports, an excellent keyboard, and a decent display. If you're willing to pay for more options, the package scales up, with features such as a full 1080p panel, Blu-ray, and a higher-end Radeon HD 6770M discrete GPU, but those add-ons will ramp up the price of the system quickly. At $800, this configuration of the dv6 seems to hit a sweet spot.

Big midrange laptops are like standard-size cars: most of the time, they're just not going to be very exciting. The HP Pavilion dv6t is a solid improvement on HP's previous 15-inch mainstream consumer laptop with numerous tweaks, bells, and whistles, but the wide variety of options means you'll get wildly different systems based on what you can afford.

Consumers looking for a stylish and affordable multimedia laptop with strong performance, convenient fingerprint security, and impressive sound should snatch up the $769 HP Pavilion dv6t. The second-generation Intel Core i5-2410M CPU provides more than enough power to stream HD movies while uploading images or editing video, while the inclusion of switchable graphics gives the dv6t enough oomph for playing the latest games. For $30 more, the Dell XPS 15 offers better sound and Nvidia GeForce GT525M graphics. However, we give the edge to the Pavilion dv6t because of its sleeker design. It's a great all-around entertainment notebook at a price that's right.

HP has put together a capable, well-designed laptop in the dv6. It's fast and efficient, with a reasonable battery life and a large, clear display. Clearly designed for the home user on a budget, you're going to get a lot more bang for your buck than you'd expect, as HP is building on the work done in the high end Envy series and the styling is really a cut above most laptops and the chassis is sturdy without being bulky. Sadly the Beats Audio is let down by the integrated speakers, but as long as you keep the volume down you shouldn’t be affected. The Core i5 processor may not be Intel's most powerful, but it's more than capable and should support most common needs, from gaming to editing video. Just uninstall the bundled software before you start using it in anger.

AMD Radeon HD 6490M: Seymore XT tabanlı GDDR5 desteği bulunan orta giriş sınıfı grafik kartı. GDDR5 ve 800MHz DDR3 ile 700-750MHz aralığında saat hızına ulaşabilmekte.

Çok seçici olmayan oyunlar akıcı olarak oynanabilir. Ama düşük çözünürlüğe ve dolayısıyla düşük detaylara hazır olun. Yine de bu kartlar ofis ve video görüntüleme (HD Videolar içinde uygun olduğu söylenebilir) konularında yeterli performansı veriyor.
