Aside from that, the Ideapad is a powerful and durable machine for entertainment and work. The Lenovo IdeaPad Y530 isn't exactly made for kids, but it sure can kick out the tunes. You can tell it was designed to be a sleek all-purpose laptop that knows how to get down to business and play around a little without costing a fortune (our review unit was $829 as of 2/26/09). Though the Y530 can't run modern games at a screaming pace, it still packs a decent amount of power for its sub-$1000 price tag. With the Lenovo IdeaPad Y530, "You get what you pay for" isn't a bad thing. The Y530 is a good laptop built for anyone who needs to work and to sneak in a little play time on the side. And, for under a thousand bucks, it is a solid counterpoint to Gateway's MC7803u series.

In Futuremark's PCMark Vantage test suite, the Lenovo Y530 performed quite well in comparison to the more powerful reference systems. In the CPU tests, with its 2.0GHz CPU, the Y530 fell in line just below the slightly faster 2.1GHz processors. The Y530 had its poorest showings in the memories and gaming tests. However, it held its own by shadowing the front runners in the Hard Disk Drive Test, Communications Test, Music Test, and TV and Movies Test. The Hitachi drive in the Lenovo Y530 proved to be a powerful addition for a 5,400 RPM drive and was surely a factor in the strong test results. The Y530's 15.4" screen, with its native resolution of 1280x800, was bright, and sharp, with good color reproduction and a quick response time.

For consumers the main use of the dedicated graphics would be for HD video decoding and digital audio out over HDMI for watching movies on your home television. For movies on the go the Y530 has a good surround sound system, which is a good step above what we usually see on most notebooks.

The integrated Dolby sound system and subwoofer set it apart from the pack, and the Y530 offers significantly better performance than its predecessor. For the price, we prefer the Gateway MC Series. It’s not as portable, but it offers a bigger 16-inch display with a 16:9 aspect ratio and a more attractive design for $999. If you can live with its reflective screen and orange accents, however, the $949 Y530 is a solid mainstream laptop.

The IdeaPad Y530 has some amazing features to offer consumers in a budget laptop systems. It uses the Intel GM45 chipset that gives it some amazing features one wouldn't expect in a low cost PC such as speedy DDR3 memory, draft-n wireless support and newer integrated graphics. This would all be great if Lenovo didn't use an older 32-bit Intel Pentium Dual Core processor that limits the system to 32-bit software. If users can accept this slower processor, they do end up with a very feature packed laptop for the money.

The Lenovo Ideapad Y650 is not for budget-conscious customers. In the midst of a new crop of $1000-to-$1300, thin-body, large-screen laptops, including the Samsung R610, the Y650 offers some great general performance, and you won't need to schedule regular appointments with a chiropractor if you're going to be carrying it with you often. If you are hunting for a stylish, thin laptop with a powerful processor, and you can look past the low resolution, you could do a lot worse. And you'll be hard-pressed to find a better-sounding laptop in this class.

Like an assassin in a business suit, the Lenovo IdeaPad Y510p has a sleek, almost professional look that hides powerful gaming hardware within. The Lenovo IdeaPad Y510p suffers from being a very good gaming laptop in a crowded category where it is not the very best. Despite this, it’s a well-built gaming rig, and it will play even demanding high-end games without so much as a stutter.

All things considered, Lenovo made an excellent gaming computer at an affordable price. For well below 1000 €, you get one of the most powerful Haswell processors, a large HDD and GT750M, with the option of adding another graphic card, which can extend the lifetime of your computers.

Overall, the $1,599 top-end model of the Y510p is a good option for gamers, as long as you can look past the lack of real solid-state storage and the non-touch screen's narrow vertical viewing angles. But if you really want a good value, as we said, we'd look instead to model 59370007, especially if Lenovo renews its $1,199 eCoupon offer.

Lenovo: Lenovo grubu Çinin en büyük ve dünyanın 4. en büyük kişisel bilgisayar üreticisi. Lenovo, masaüstü, laptop, server, mobil telefon ürünleri ve çeşitli görselleştirme ekipmanları üretmekte. Lenovo aynı zamanda teknoloji entegrasyonları konusunda danışmanlık hizmetleri vermekte. Yönetim kurulları Çin ve ABD’de bulunmakta. Hong Kong da anonim şirketi olarak faaliyet göstermekte. 1984 yılında şirket Çinin Yeni Bilimler akademisi tarafından kuruldu. Firma aslında yabancı markalar için dağıtıcı olarak işe başladı. 1990 yılında ise Lenovo kendi PC’leri üretmeye başladı ve 1997 yılında Çinde lider konuma yükseldi. 2004 yılında Lenovo IBM’in PC business kısmını 1.25 milyar dolara satın aldı. 2007 yılında (IDC tarafından yapılan araştırmaya göre) ki Pazar payları: HP 18.9 %, Dell 16.4 %, Acer 9.9 %, Lenovo 7.5 %, Apple 5.7 %
Sadece eski oyunlar bu grafik kartları ile akıcı bir şekilde (eğer yüksek bir sistem gereksinimi duymuyorlarsa) oynanabilir. Bu kategorideki paylaşımlı grafik çekirdekleri az ısınma ve daha uzun batarya ömrü gibi avantajlara sahip. Ofis, internet, şekil düzenleme ve video editleme gibi işlemler herhangi bir kısıtlama olmadan bu grafik kartları ile yapılabilir.
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500MHD: GM45 çipsetine (Montevina) kurulmuş, onboard (paylaşımlı) grafik kartı. 2 adet daha fazla shadera sahip olması ve daha yüksek saat hızından ötürü GMA X3100 den oldukça hızlı. Yinede oyuncular için (DirectX 10 oyunları oynanamaz, oynansa bile çok düşük detaylarda) önerilebilir olduğu söylenemez. Dahili video işlemcisi, düşük hızlı işlemcilere HD video decode (AVC/VC-2/MPEG2) işlemleri sırasında yardımcı olarak Blu-Ray medyaların akıcı şekilde oynatılmasını sağlıyor.
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650: 55 nm işlemci teknolojisi ile üretilmiş, daha yüksek çekirdek hızı ile HD 2600 / HD 2700 ün üstünde tutulabilecek orta sınıf bir grafik kartı.
120 aktarım işemcisi ( 48 adet 5 boyutlu Shader ünitesi) görsel işlemlerini yapmakta.
NVIDIA GeForce G 105M:
9300M GS’nin daha yüksek saat hızına sahip ve dolayısıyla biraz daha hızlı bir modeli. Halen 65nm teknolojisi ile üretilmekte. Hybrid-SLI ve GeForceBoost desteğine sahip (Nvidia çipset ile kullanıldığında).
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500M:
Intel GMA 4500MHD (bazen GMA X4500 HD veya benzer isimlerle de adlandırılır), DirectX 10 uyumlu ;GM45, GE45 ve GS45 Centrine 2 platformunda (Montevina) kullanılan dahili grafik kartı. Çip dahili bir belleğe sahip olmasada dinamik olarak
sistem belleğini (384MB'ye kadar) paylaşmakta.
Çok seçici olmayan oyunlar akıcı olarak oynanabilir. Ama düşük çözünürlüğe ve dolayısıyla düşük detaylara hazır olun. Yine de bu kartlar ofis ve video görüntüleme (HD Videolar içinde uygun olduğu söylenebilir) konularında yeterli performansı veriyor.
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650: 15-20 Watt aralığında güç tüketiminde bulunan Eyevision destekli orta sınıf DirectX 11 uyumlu grafik kartı.
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730:
NVIDIA GeForce GT 240M: Nvidia GeForce GT 240M, GT216 çekirdeğine üzerine yapılandırılmış DirectX 10.1 uyumlu bir grafik kartı. GT 130M serisinin halefi olup, teknik olarak GT 230M serisinin saat hızı arttırılmış hali.
48 shader çekirdeği sayesinde GT 130M'e oranla farkedilir şekilde daha iyi bir performans sunmakta. 40nm üretim teknolojisi sayesinde daha yüksek performans aynı seviyede güç tüketimi ile sunulabilmekte.
GT240M'in GT216 şeklinde adlandırılan çekirdeği Nvidia'ya göre şu an masa üstlerinde kullanılan gelişmiş kartlarla aynı mimariye sahip (GTX 200 serisi).
Oyun oynamak isteyen kullanıcılar için en son seçenek. Yeni oyunlar bu kartlarda çalışacaktır, ama sadece düşük detaylar ve orta çözünürlükte.
NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M: Üst orta sýnýf GeForce GT 700M serisi grafik kartý. Kepler mimarisi tabanlý olup 28nm ile üretilmekte.

Intel Pentium Dual Core: Yonah çekirdeği olmasına rağmen, Pentium adının dönüşü oldu. Aslında çok iyi bir güç tüketimi oranıyla 2 çekirdekli bir işlemcinin uyumundan oluşmakta.
T3200:
Giriş seviyesi dual core işlemci. Eski merom çekirdeği ve küçük level 2 Cache sebebiyle düşük bir performans vermekte.
T4200: Giriş sınıfı 1MB Level 2 Cache sahip, sanallaştırma teknolojisinden yoksun işlemci. Core 2 Duo sınıfı ile kıyaslanıldığında bazı güç tasarrufu mekanizmaları deaktifleştirilmiş.
T4300: Giriş sınıfı 1MB Level 2 Cache sahip, sanallaştırma teknolojisinden yoksun işlemci. Core 2 Duo sınıfı ile kıyaslanıldığında bazı güç tasarrufu mekanizmaları deaktifleştirilmiş.
Intel Core 2 Extreme:
X9100: X9100, Core 2 serisi içindeki en hızlı işlemi olmakla beraber, serbest bırakılmış katlayıcı sayesinde kolayca overclock edilebilmekte. Daha sonraları pahalı X9100 daha ucuz ve güç tasarruflu T9900 ile yer değiştirdi.
Intel Core 2 Duo: Daha fazla tüketime ihtiyaç duymayan ve daha uzun aktarım hatlarına sahip Core Duo ve Core Solo işlemcilerin yeni nesli. Core Duo dizanynına ek olarak 4. bir decoder, güçlendirilmiş SSE unitesi ve ek Aritmetik mantık ünitesi ( ALU ) mevcut.
Core 2 Duo Laptop işlemcileri masa üstü işlemcilerle benzer. Sadece daha düşük voltaj ile çalışmakta (0.95 Volt - 1188 Volt) ve daha düşük frontside bus saat hızına sahip (1066 MHz karşı 667 MHz). Aynı hıza sahip olsalarda laptop Core 2 Duo işlemcileri masa üstü versiyonlarına oranla daha düşük frontside bus ve yavaş hard disklerinden ötürü 20 - 25% daha yavaş.
P8700: Orta segment 3MB Level 2 Cache kapasiteli 25 Watt güç tüketimli işlemci.
Intel Core i3:
330M: Core i3-330, 350M’e göre saat hızı düşürülmüş bir işlemci, saat hızı 2.13 GHz olmakla beraber Turbo Boost özelliğine sahip değil. Hyperthreading sayesinde 4 komut eş zamanlı işlenebilmekte. Dahili GMA HD 3150 ve DDR3 bellek kontrolörüde dahil edilmiş.
Intel Core i7:
720QM: Core i7-720QM, 2009 yılı içerisinde karşımıza Core i7 Quad çekirdeğin en yavaş üyesi olarak karşımıza çıkıyor. 1.6 ile 2.8 GHz aralığındaki saat hızı ile yavaş bir 4 çekirdekli işlemci olmakla beraber hızlı bir tek çekirdekli işlemci olmanın özelliklerinin avantajlarına sahip. Daha hızlı Core i7 işlemcilerle kıyaslandığında 720QM sadece 6MB L3 Cache kapasitesine sahip.
4700MQ:
2.4 ile Turbo Boost sayesinde 3.4GHz saat hızı aralığına sahip dahili HD Graphics 4600 grafik kartı ve çift kanallı DDR3 bellek kontrolörüne sahip Haswell tabanlı quad-core işlemci.
