Its mediocre battery life is a shame and may be enough to dissuade more than a few potential buyers, but overall it’s very impressive little laptop from Sony.

Everyone who saw it in our Test Centre despised the colour, wishing instead for black or white (or even the champagne colour that adorns part of the base). The Sony VAIO CW Series (VPCCW15FGW) notebook is quite stylish and comfortable to use. We like its keyboard and also the software that comes preinstalled on it, but it could use better connectivity options such as eSATA and a full-sized ExpressCard/54 slot.

EN→TR Archive.org versionThe Sony VAIO CW is a fantastic laptop, especially given the price. It’s stylish, powerful and portable. There are few compromises made. I’d certainly love it if the laptop were thinner and lighter, but then you wouldn’t get an optical drive built in and it would be harder for Sony to put those powerful components inside. For a student looking for a portable laptop that will not be outdated in 2-years and that offers all the power you need to get your school work done and also enjoy some entertainment in the form of multimedia and some light gaming, the VAIO CW fits the bill. Highly recommended!

Sony:
Sony, merkezi Japonyada bulunan elektronik, video, iletişim, oyun konsolları ve bilgi teknolojileri ürünlerinde hizmet veren en büyük şirketlerden birisidir. Marka “sonus” latincede ses anlamına gelen kelmıeden gelmektedır. 1946 yılında farklı bir isimle kurulmuş olsada 1958 yılında yeniden isimlendirilmiştir. Sony Corporatıon, Sony grubunun patent ve elektronik kısmını oluşturmaktadır. Sony pazar payı bakmından orta ölçekli bir notebook üretici olarak görülmektedir.
Çok seçici olmayan oyunlar akıcı olarak oynanabilir. Ama düşük çözünürlüğe ve dolayısıyla düşük detaylara hazır olun. Yine de bu kartlar ofis ve video görüntüleme (HD Videolar içinde uygun olduğu söylenebilir) konularında yeterli performansı veriyor.
NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M: Nividia GeForce GT 230M, GT216 çekirdeğine üzerine yapılandırılmış DirectX 10.1 uyumlu bir grafik kartı. 48 shader çekirdeği sayesinde GT 130M'e oranla farkedilir şekilde daha iyi bir performans sunmakta. 40nm üretim teknolojisi sayesinde daha yüksek performans aynı seviyede güç tüketimi ile sunulabilmekte.
GT230M'in GT216 şeklinde adlandırılan çekirdeği Nvidia'ya göre şu an masa üstlerinde kullanılan gelişmiş kartlarla aynı mimariye sahip (GTX 200 serisi).
NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M: Nvidia GeForce GT 330M, GT230M grafik kartının yeni nesli ve GT240M’e oranla biraz daha yüksek saat hızına sahip (ama isimlendirilmeden anlaşıldığı kadarıyla GT230M’in güç tüketim özelliklerine sahip)
Sadece eski oyunlar bu grafik kartları ile akıcı bir şekilde (eğer yüksek bir sistem gereksinimi duymuyorlarsa) oynanabilir. Bu kategorideki paylaşımlı grafik çekirdekleri az ısınma ve daha uzun batarya ömrü gibi avantajlara sahip. NVIDIA GeForce G210M: Nvidia GeForce G120M or G 210 M, DirectX 10.1 desteği sunan GT218 çekirdeği üzerine yapılandırılmış bir notebook grafik kartı. Selefi gibi 16 shadera sahip ama saat hızı oldukça arttırılmış.
40nm teknolojisi sayesinde (G110M'in 55nm üretimini ile kıyaslandığında) güç tüketimi aynı seviyede kalmakta. GT210M'in GT218 şeklinde adlandırılan çekirdeği Nvidia'ya göre şu an masa üstlerinde kullanılan gelişmiş kartlarla aynı mimariye sahip (GTX 200 serisi).
NVIDIA GeForce 310M: GeForce 310M, GeForce G210M serisinin yeni versiyonu ve benzer saat hızı ile beraber aynı çip üzerine kurulmuş (shader hızı +30MHz ile 1530MHz).

Intel Core 2 Duo: Daha fazla tüketime ihtiyaç duymayan ve daha uzun aktarım hatlarına sahip Core Duo ve Core Solo işlemcilerin yeni nesli. Core Duo dizanynına ek olarak 4. bir decoder, güçlendirilmiş SSE unitesi ve ek Aritmetik mantık ünitesi ( ALU ) mevcut.
Core 2 Duo Laptop işlemcileri masa üstü işlemcilerle benzer. Sadece daha düşük voltaj ile çalışmakta (0.95 Volt - 1188 Volt) ve daha düşük frontside bus saat hızına sahip (1066 MHz karşı 667 MHz). Aynı hıza sahip olsalarda laptop Core 2 Duo işlemcileri masa üstü versiyonlarına oranla daha düşük frontside bus ve yavaş hard disklerinden ötürü 20 - 25% daha yavaş.
