Super Thin, Light and Mobile? "Even more mobile, more elegant and considerably more efficient than any other notebook" - so much to the comparatives with which Toshiba promotes the T130 on its homepage. This laptop can't be placed into the category of notebooks already just because of its 13.3 inch size and thus actually participates in the subnotebook league. The built-in Intel Pentium SU4100 processor, a four gigabyte DDR3 RAM and the Intel GMA 4500 graphic chip set promise more than only "netbook power". In the best case, there should also be enough mobility supplied with a announced battery life of up to 10 hours. The following review shows how the Satellite T130 sustains in practice.

Ergonomically, it is an improvement over a netbook, and we appreciate the lengthy battery life, but the unresponsive mouse buttons and a lack of raw speed blunt it's appeal a little. We'd recommend going for the Satellite Pro version, with its faster processor and Windows 7 Professional.

The Intel ULV-powered ultraportables we’ve seen over the last few months have been a bit of a mixed bag. Some, like the Samsung X120, have successfully exploited the thin-and-light idea to offer something new, while others, like the Advent Altro, seem to have missed the point completely. This particular Toshiba T130 model isn’t a bad deal if you need a big screen, long battery life and a finger-friendly keyboard, but it just didn’t dazzle us and there are other ULV ultraportables we like more for this amount of money.

The Toshiba Satellite T130-13Q is a very nice-looking laptop. It's beautifully and solidly constructed, offers the same pixel resolution as its larger-screened competitors and delivers by far the best battery performance. Unfortunately, you'll have to sacrifice an optical drive, a fair deal of speed – and a reasonable amount of cash too as it's also – along with the Samsung – at the very top of this sub-£500 category.

It's beautifully and solidly constructed, offers the same pixel resolution as its larger-screened competitors and delivers by far the best battery performance. Unfortunately, you'll have to sacrifice an optical drive, a fair deal of speed – and a reasonable amount of cash too as it's also – along with the Samsung – at the very top of this sub-£500 category.

Toshiba, Japonya kökenli uluslararası bir şirketler grubudur. Şirketin asıl işi altyapı hizmetleri, tüketici ürünleri ve elektronik cihaz ve bileşenlerinden oluşmakta. Toshiba en büyük uluslararası notebook üreticilerinden biri olup, hakkında birçok inceleme bulunmaktadır.
Sadece eski oyunlar bu grafik kartları ile akıcı bir şekilde (eğer yüksek bir sistem gereksinimi duymuyorlarsa) oynanabilir. Bu kategorideki paylaşımlı grafik çekirdekleri az ısınma ve daha uzun batarya ömrü gibi avantajlara sahip. Ofis, internet, şekil düzenleme ve video editleme gibi işlemler herhangi bir kısıtlama olmadan bu grafik kartları ile yapılabilir.
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500M:
Intel GMA 4500MHD (bazen GMA X4500 HD veya benzer isimlerle de adlandırılır), DirectX 10 uyumlu ;GM45, GE45 ve GS45 Centrine 2 platformunda (Montevina) kullanılan dahili grafik kartı. Çip dahili bir belleğe sahip olmasada dinamik olarak
sistem belleğini (384MB'ye kadar) paylaşmakta.
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500MHD: GM45 çipsetine (Montevina) kurulmuş, onboard (paylaşımlı) grafik kartı. 2 adet daha fazla shadera sahip olması ve daha yüksek saat hızından ötürü GMA X3100 den oldukça hızlı. Yinede oyuncular için (DirectX 10 oyunları oynanamaz, oynansa bile çok düşük detaylarda) önerilebilir olduğu söylenemez. Dahili video işlemcisi, düşük hızlı işlemcilere HD video decode (AVC/VC-2/MPEG2) işlemleri sırasında yardımcı olarak Blu-Ray medyaların akıcı şekilde oynatılmasını sağlıyor.

Intel Pentium Dual Core: Yonah çekirdeği olmasına rağmen, Pentium adının dönüşü oldu. Aslında çok iyi bir güç tüketimi oranıyla 2 çekirdekli bir işlemcinin uyumundan oluşmakta.
SU4100: Küçük subnotebooklarda kullanılan, giriş seviyesi işlemci. Pentium adındna ötürü işlemci Core 2 Duo işlemcilere kıyasla daha az güç tasarrufu modlarına sahip olabilir.
Intel Core 2 Solo:

Küçük subnotebooklar için Penryn çekirdeği üzerine kurulu, güç tasarruflu tek çekirdekli işlemci. Performansı 1.7GHz Athlon II Neo K125 ile kıyaslanabilir.
Intel Pentium:
SU2700: Giriş seviyesi, tek çekirdekli işlemci. 1.3 GHz gibi düşük bir saat hızına sahip olduğu için çok hızlı değil ve Core serisinden daha az güç tasarrufu modülüne sahip. Anakarta direk entegre edilebildiği için ufak, ince laptoplarda kullanılmakta.
Intel Core 2 Duo: Daha fazla tüketime ihtiyaç duymayan ve daha uzun aktarım hatlarına sahip Core Duo ve Core Solo işlemcilerin yeni nesli. Core Duo dizanynına ek olarak 4. bir decoder, güçlendirilmiş SSE unitesi ve ek Aritmetik mantık ünitesi ( ALU ) mevcut.
Core 2 Duo Laptop işlemcileri masa üstü işlemcilerle benzer. Sadece daha düşük voltaj ile çalışmakta (0.95 Volt - 1188 Volt) ve daha düşük frontside bus saat hızına sahip (1066 MHz karşı 667 MHz). Aynı hıza sahip olsalarda laptop Core 2 Duo işlemcileri masa üstü versiyonlarına oranla daha düşük frontside bus ve yavaş hard disklerinden ötürü 20 - 25% daha yavaş.
SU7300: 10 Watt gibi düşük bir güç tüketimine sahip düşük saat hızlı işlemci.
