A simply outstanding corporate laptop with power, comfort and quality. Toshiba's Tecra range is aimed at the corporate users, and the Tecra M10-10H is a 14.1-inch machine, offering a useful mix of portability and practicality. Unlike the consumer laptops here, it features standard TFT technology for the display. Where these matt-finish panels are often lacking in lustre when compared with glossy Super-TFT screens, the Toshiba's offers vivid colours. The Tecra M10-10H is an excellent corporate machine. Offering impressive performance, outstanding usability and a host of professional features, it's the ideal solution for small business use.

The M10 doesn’t offer anything innovative, and has few standout features, but as an all-round package it’s a useful, well made and powerful business machine. It’s a shame the latest features - such as 3G/HSDPA - are omitted, but if all you need is a tough, reliable and comfortable laptop, then it may be worth putting the Toshiba on your shortlist. That said, at £700, it faces stiff competition from the likes of Dell’s Latitude E-series.

Some manufacturers, like Dell, believe laptop users, even supposedly non-frivolous business folk, prefer svelte, stylish notebooks. Not so Toshiba, at least if the the Tecra M10 is anything to go by.We can't fault the Tecra M10's performance, but with a relatively feeble battery pack and a look that's more Nineties than Noughties, this notebook failed to excite. Just the sort of thing to give to staffers who might otherwise get ideas above their workstation.

The Toshiba Tecra M10-10I is attractively priced, and offers a strong range of security and data-protection features. We're not so impressed by the lack of a webcam and mobile broadband, but these can be added -- at a price. So long as you don't intend to carry this rather bulky laptop too often, its high-quality screen and excellent keyboard, plus a solid set of internal components, should make it a serviceable workhorse.

  In the end, Toshiba accomplishes what it sets out to with the Tecra M10. For $1,199, you get a well-equipped, all-business notebook, with everything a security-conscious user needs and without all the bloatware that can slow it down. The performance, while erratic from one test to the next, excels where it needs to: handling large documents, and multitasking. If you’re a small business owner who wants to take security into your own hands, put the Toshiba Tecra M10 on your short list.

Toshiba, Japonya kökenli uluslararası bir şirketler grubudur. Şirketin asıl işi altyapı hizmetleri, tüketici ürünleri ve elektronik cihaz ve bileşenlerinden oluşmakta. Toshiba en büyük uluslararası notebook üreticilerinden biri olup, hakkında birçok inceleme bulunmaktadır.

Sadece eski oyunlar bu grafik kartları ile akıcı bir şekilde (eğer yüksek bir sistem gereksinimi duymuyorlarsa) oynanabilir. Bu kategorideki paylaşımlı grafik çekirdekleri az ısınma ve daha uzun batarya ömrü gibi avantajlara sahip. Ofis, internet, şekil düzenleme ve video editleme gibi işlemler herhangi bir kısıtlama olmadan bu grafik kartları ile yapılabilir.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500MHD: GM45 çipsetine (Montevina) kurulmuş, onboard (paylaşımlı) grafik kartı. 2 adet daha fazla shadera sahip olması ve daha yüksek saat hızından ötürü GMA X3100 den oldukça hızlı. Yinede oyuncular için (DirectX 10 oyunları oynanamaz, oynansa bile çok düşük detaylarda) önerilebilir olduğu söylenemez. Dahili video işlemcisi, düşük hızlı işlemcilere HD video decode (AVC/VC-2/MPEG2) işlemleri sırasında yardımcı olarak Blu-Ray medyaların akıcı şekilde oynatılmasını sağlıyor.

Intel Core 2 Duo: Daha fazla tüketime ihtiyaç duymayan ve daha uzun aktarım hatlarına sahip Core Duo ve Core Solo işlemcilerin yeni nesli. Core Duo dizanynına ek olarak 4. bir decoder, güçlendirilmiş SSE unitesi ve ek Aritmetik mantık ünitesi ( ALU ) mevcut.

Core 2 Duo Laptop işlemcileri masa üstü işlemcilerle benzer. Sadece daha düşük voltaj ile çalışmakta (0.95 Volt - 1188 Volt) ve daha düşük frontside bus saat hızına sahip (1066 MHz karşı 667 MHz). Aynı hıza sahip olsalarda laptop Core 2 Duo işlemcileri masa üstü versiyonlarına oranla daha düşük frontside bus ve yavaş hard disklerinden ötürü 20 - 25% daha yavaş.

P8400: 25 Wattlık güç tüketimine sahip orta sınıf işlemci. Oyuncular için performansı yeterli değil.

T9400: Core 2 Duo P9500 ile aynı performansa ama daha yüksek güç tüketimine sahip işlemci.

P8600: Hızlı ama halen pahalı olan Dual Core işlemci. Çoğu oyun ve uygulama için yeterli olmakla beraber 25 Wattlık güç tüketimi ile küçük laptoplarda bile kullanılabilmekte.

T6570:

Giriş seviyesi Penryn tabanlı dual core işlemci. 2MB Level 2 Cache kapasitesine sahip ve FSB hızı 800 MHz. T6500’e benzesede VT-x fonksiyonlarına sahip.
