As of this writing the Asus Eee PC 1101HA can be found online for around $380, or about the same as the nearly identical (spec-wise) Acer Aspire One 751h. Between these two, the Eee has a battery life advantage, plus the option to sacrifice some of that juice with an overclock that will give it a small edge over the Atom N270 processor. However, looking at the broader netbook market, the HP Mini 311 offers slightly less battery life but a faster CPU and Nvidia Ion graphics, a feat usually reserved for 12+ inch models.

The high resolution 11-inch display, larger keyboard, and easily overclocked processor make this little laptop a compelling option if you're looking for a cheap travel companion. On the negative side of things, the slower N520 Atom processor really "needs" to be overclocked in order to provide a reasonably snappy experience, and the weak Intel integrated graphics prevent this netbook from being much of a mobile entertainment center.

Does this Eee PC offer the best netbook balance yet? The Eee PC 1101 is the latest addition to Asus' Seashell range, which focuses on extreme portability and usability. It is the largest machine in the range, as it boasts an 11.6-inch screen, although it also features an extremely impressive 470-minute battery life. Overall, we like the Eee PC Seashell 1101 a lot. While it doesn't offer the extreme portability of its smaller brother, the 1008HA, it manages to provide a whole host of useful features, while being easier to use and looking fantastic.

It’s a bit too big to call a netbook and too puny to be considered a laptop (and it remains to be seen how the chip copes with Windows 7), but if you’re looking for a long-lasting and inexpensive portable for nothing more than standard productivity and internet tasks, it’s certainly a tempting proposition. The ASUS Eee PC 1101HA is a bit too big to be a netbook, but it's still a good choice if you need a lightweight laptop that will only see limited use.

What can we say? We wanted the Eee PC T101MT to be that perfect tablet / netbook mutt. But for $499, we simply cannot recommend it. Sure, you can upgrade to Windows Home Premium for a bit more cash, but at that point you're spending $550 and still getting a pretty shoddy touchscreen experience. While the Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3t has a better capacitive screen, we found its performance and viewing angles to be pretty unpleasant. We wish we had better news, but we're still in a place where we can't say there's a well-rounded netvertible out there. And for that, our search continues...

Asus: ASUSTEK Bilgisayar anonym şirketi Tayvan asıllı uluslararası bir şirket olup; anakart, grafik kartları, optic sürücüler, PDAlar, bilgisayar monitörleri, notebooklar, serverlar, network ürünleri, bilgisayar kasa ve bileşenleri üretmektedir. Şirketin 2007 gelirleri 6.9 milyar dolar olarak açıklanmıştır. ASUS aynı zamanda diğer üreticiler için bileşenlerde üretmektedir. 2008 yılında Eee PC netbook dünyasında büyük bir patlama gerçekleştirmiştir.

Asus İnceleme

Bu tür grafik kaetları oyunlar için pek ideal değil. Eğer bir oyunu çalıştıracak olurlarsa ya grafiksel hatalarla ya da düşük frame oranlarıyla çalıştırabilirler. Oyuncular için uygun değiller. Ofis ve internet ise oyunların aksine bu GPU lar için sorun değil.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 500: UL11l, US15L ve US15W çipsetlerinde dahili (onboard) olarak lisanslı PowerVR SGX çekirdeği ile kullanılan grafik çözümü. DirectX 10.1 desteği mevcut ama düşük saat hızı değerlerinden ötürü rates (100-200 MHz UL11L - US15) ve sadece 4 shader bulunmasından dolayı 3D oyunlar için uygun bir kart değil. Dahili video işleyici HD videoların işlenmesine yardımcı olmakta (MPEG2, VC-1, AVC).

Sadece eski oyunlar bu grafik kartları ile akıcı bir şekilde (eğer yüksek bir sistem gereksinimi duymuyorlarsa) oynanabilir. Intel Atom:

Intel Atom serisi 64-Bit bir işlemci olup UMPC ve MID türü gibi küçük notebooklar için ucuz bir işlemci alternatifidir. Yeni mimarinin özelliği “in order” uygulamasını kullanması. Böylece transistor sayısı azaltılıp, daha ucuz bir üretim mümkün.

Z520: Çok düşük performansa sahip güç tasarruflu tek çekirdekli işlemci. N serisi atom işlemcilere oranla daha çok özelliğe sahip.

N450: GMA 3150 GPU ve dahili bellek kontrolörüne sahip Netbooklar için üretilen Intel Atom serisi işlemci. Sistem performansı Atom N280 / GMA 950 kombinasyonundan sadece biraz daha hızlı.

10.1: Notebook, subnotebooklar için oldukça küçük ve nadir karşılaşılan ekran formatına sahip. Bu format oldukça nadiren kullanılmakta.

Avantajı ise subnotebookun küçük tutulup kolayca taşınabilmesi. Dahası küçük boyutlar daha az enerjiye ihtiyaç duydukları için batarya ömrü uzamakta ve dolayısıyla mobilitede artmakta. Dezavantajı ise yazıları okumak gözler için yorucu olabilmekte. Yüksek çözünürlükler ise pek kullanılamamakta.

Sınıfınınfen hafif subnotebooklarından biri ve taşınması gerçekten çok kolay. Bu hafiflikte bir laptop bulmaktan gerçekten çok zor. 7 – 9 inç ekran boyutu bu sınıf için ideal.
