A beépített Core i7-1165G7 processzor elegendő teljesítményt nyújt az irodai és internetes alkalmazásokhoz, de összességében nem tudja kihasználni a képességeit. A Dell alacsony, 13 wattos TDP mellett döntött. A RAM, amely nem teljes sebességen fut, szintén megviseli a teljesítményt.

Az Inspiron 15 3501-t nem nagy teljesítményre tervezték.

A laptop kevés zajt generál, és alig melegszik. Az üzemidő középszerű: A Dellnek sikerül 6:50 óra Wi-Fi üzemidőt kihoznia a 42 Wh-s akkumulátorból. A versenytársak többre képesek e tekintetben.

A matt kijelző (Full HD, IPS) stabil látószögekkel, jó kontraszttal és jó színvisszaadással rendelkezik. A fényerő és a színtér-lefedettség túl alacsony. Emellett a Wi-Fi átviteli sebesség lassú, a készülékre csak egy év garancia van, és a műanyag ház nem elég stabil.

Összességében a Dell sok pénzt kér el, majdnem 800 eurót egy alapszintű irodai laptopért, amelynek megvannak a maga gyengeségei. A Core i7 CPU, a 16 GB RAM és az 512 GB-os SSD megemeli az árat. Akit igazán érdekel az Inspiron, annak egy Core i5 vagy Core i3 processzorral szerelt modell ajánlott. Az ár és a teljesítmény itt jobban összhangban van egymással. A RAM és az SSD szükség esetén könnyen bővíthető.

Az Inspiron alternatívája lehet a Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15ALC05. A laptop nagyobb CPU-teljesítményt, stílusos alumíniumházat és kiváló üzemidőt kínál. Az IdeaPad legnagyobb gyengesége: A RAM forrasztott.
