The cast is led by an Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 running at 2.0GHz with an 800MHz front-side bus. This is fast enough to easily handle any software you'd want to use on a notebook like this. As to memory, 3GB of DDR2 RAM is as much as the installed 32-bit version of Windows Vista Premium can handle. In a nutshell: if you're looking for a cheap and simple family laptop with reasonable speakers, the Dell Inspiron 1545 is worth considering. However, appalling battery life really hampers an otherwise solid but unspectacular effort that is inferior to the model it replaces.

This model has a lush widescreen and isn't too big, and the glossy shell looks nearly as good as the Apple aesthetic it apes. The Intel Core i5-520M in our review unit may almost be a bit too much for a unit that otherwise seems fairly stripped down, but otherwise the overall build is well-rounded. EN→TRWith the Dell Inspiron 15R-2728MRB, you get good productivity and multimedia performance at a reasonable price. You also get a strong feature set, including all the wireless options you could want, a sizeable hard drive, and a Blu-ray drive. Lackluster graphics and battery performance hold it back, however. If you want a powerful 15-inch desktop replacement laptop with gaming chops, the latest technology, and a longer battery life, the Editors' Choice Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch (Thunderbolt) is still your best bet, albeit a pricier one.

Dell: Dell, kişisel bilgisayarlar üreten, satan, pazarlayan, geliştiren ve destek sağlayan çok uluslu bir teknoloji şirketidir. Texas merkezli şirket dünya genelinde 82700 kişiye iş imkanı sunmakta. 2006 yılında şirket Alienware’i satın aldı. Çoğu ülkede laptoplar direk Dell tarafından satılmakta ve farklı konfigrasyon seçenekleri sunulmakta. 2007 yılında (IDC tarafından yapılan araştırmaya göre) ki Pazar payları: HP 18.9 %, Dell 16.4 %, Acer 9.9 %, Lenovo 7.5 %, Apple 5.7 %
Çok seçici olmayan oyunlar akıcı olarak oynanabilir. Ama düşük çözünürlüğe ve dolayısıyla düşük detaylara hazır olun. Yine de bu kartlar ofis ve video görüntüleme (HD Videolar içinde uygun olduğu söylenebilir) konularında yeterli performansı veriyor.
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500MHD: GM45 çipsetine (Montevina) kurulmuş, onboard (paylaşımlı) grafik kartı. 2 adet daha fazla shadera sahip olması ve daha yüksek saat hızından ötürü GMA X3100 den oldukça hızlı. Yinede oyuncular için (DirectX 10 oyunları oynanamaz, oynansa bile çok düşük detaylarda) önerilebilir olduğu söylenemez. Dahili video işlemcisi, düşük hızlı işlemcilere HD video decode (AVC/VC-2/MPEG2) işlemleri sırasında yardımcı olarak Blu-Ray medyaların akıcı şekilde oynatılmasını sağlıyor.
Oyun oynamak isteyen kullanıcılar için en son seçenek. Yeni oyunlar bu kartlarda çalışacaktır, ama sadece düşük detaylar ve orta çözünürlükte.

Core 2 Duo Laptop işlemcileri masa üstü işlemcilerle benzer. Sadece daha düşük voltaj ile çalışmakta (0.95 Volt - 1188 Volt) ve daha düşük frontside bus saat hızına sahip (1066 MHz karşı 667 MHz). Aynı hıza sahip olsalarda laptop Core 2 Duo işlemcileri masa üstü versiyonlarına oranla daha düşük frontside bus ve yavaş hard disklerinden ötürü 20 - 25% daha yavaş.

Intel Core i3:
330M: Core i3-330, 350M’e göre saat hızı düşürülmüş bir işlemci, saat hızı 2.13 GHz olmakla beraber Turbo Boost özelliğine sahip değil. Hyperthreading sayesinde 4 komut eş zamanlı işlenebilmekte. Dahili GMA HD 3150 ve DDR3 bellek kontrolörüde dahil edilmiş.
Intel Pentium Dual Core: Yonah çekirdeği olmasına rağmen, Pentium adının dönüşü oldu. Aslında çok iyi bir güç tüketimi oranıyla 2 çekirdekli bir işlemcinin uyumundan oluşmakta.
T4400: Giriş sınıfı 1MB Level 2 Cache sahip, sanallaştırma teknolojisinden yoksun işlemci. Core 2 Duo sınıfı ile kıyaslanıldığında bazı güç tasarrufu mekanizmaları deaktifleştirilmiş.

480M:
Core i5-480M sadece 3MB Level 3 Cache kapasiteli, 2.66 ile 2.9 GHz (Turbo Modu) saat hızı aralığına sahip işlemci. Hyperthreading sayesinde 4 komut eş zamanlı olarak işlenebilmekte. Dahili bir grafik kartı(GMA HD) ve DDR3 bellek kontrolörü pakete dahil edilmiş.
15.6: 15 inçlik ekran ve varyasyonları tüm notebooklar için bir standart olup tüm notebookların yarısından çoğunda kullanılmakta. 15.4 inçlerde 16:10 standart görüntü.
