Looking for a portable business machine? It's clear the Acer TM8371 is a business-oriented machine. It packs excellent performance and oodles of battery life into a very thin, very light, but very dull frame. It doesn't win any awards for gaming performance, but we don't suspect that's what it was designed to do. The model we tested comes in, judging from a few retail websites, at around £700 right now. It's possible to get it even cheaper, albeit with a reduced set of specs - down to more like £600. If you're looking for a business laptop around that price then this is an excellent choice.

Does swapping power for battery life and mobility pay off in this business laptop? Acer's Travelmate Timeline 8000 series targets the business sector, and provides all day usability in a very compact shell. At 13.3 inches, the TravelMate 8371 is the smallest in the series. We like the Acer TravelMate 8371 TimeLine a lot. It's a great business tool with a fantastic battery life that will keep you productive for hours on end.

Earlier in the year, Acer was one of the first companies to take advantage of Intel's new CULV processors in creating affordable ultra-portables. Delivering good performance and outstanding battery life, we were delighted by the Acer Aspire Timeline 4810T and gave it a Recommended Award. If you're a businessman who has always wanted an ultra-portable but couldn't justify the expense, the TravelMate Timeline 8731 should make you very happy. Its outstanding battery life and realistic price are its best points, but it also retains enough important features that you won't feel too hamstrung.

If the Acer TravelMate Timeline 8371 were a bowl of porridge, it'd belong to baby bear. It's not so large that it'll break your back on a road trip, and not so small that you need the fingers of a four-year-old girl to operate it. It is, in principle, just right. Available in three main configurations, our mid-range review sample boasts the full product name Acer TravelMate Timeline TM8371-944G32 N, and retails for around £700. We like the Acer TravelMate Timeline 8371. It's attractive in an understated sort of way, offers strong performance and boasts good battery life. Laptops such as the MSI X340 might suit a more fashion-conscious crowd, but, all things considered, we'd rather spend our money on the 8371.

With frankly amazing battery life, lasting as long as 10 hours under light use, and some excellent specifications make this great for those on the road. We didn’t like keyboard that much but overall this is an excellent value package.

Yorum

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500MHD: GM45 çipsetine (Montevina) kurulmuş, onboard (paylaşımlı) grafik kartı. 2 adet daha fazla shadera sahip olması ve daha yüksek saat hızından ötürü GMA X3100 den oldukça hızlı. Yinede oyuncular için (DirectX 10 oyunları oynanamaz, oynansa bile çok düşük detaylarda) önerilebilir olduğu söylenemez. Dahili video işlemcisi, düşük hızlı işlemcilere HD video decode (AVC/VC-2/MPEG2) işlemleri sırasında yardımcı olarak Blu-Ray medyaların akıcı şekilde oynatılmasını sağlıyor.

Sadece eski oyunlar bu grafik kartları ile akıcı bir şekilde (eğer yüksek bir sistem gereksinimi duymuyorlarsa) oynanabilir.
