HP dares this experiment, and installs the fastest Carrizo APU alongside an SSD and a WQHD IPS panel in its EliteBook 745 G3. But just how well can the 1300 Euro (~$1404) machine stand up to the Intel competition?

There's a lot to like about the EliteBook 745 G3, not least its $1,119 price with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD. It's a good-looking, fairly light aluminum design. The keyboard is as good as any you'll find in the business laptop category, with a superb typing feel. We like the convenience of the mute, airplane mode, and microphone mute.
