EN→TR Archive.org versionWhen you place yourself and this notebook in any comfortable position you prefer, you will notice that Vista simply “flies” and applications react almost instantly at your commands. Unfortunately gaming performances aren’t on same level as rest of this notebook. Simply put, native resolution is too much for nVIDIA 9700GT graphics card and this will result in usage of middle of low settings in most contemporary games. If you don’t mind playing games with settings not set at “High” (or “Highest”) than this can be model for you. If you want to play games on “High” and enjoy in best gaming experience on notebook then you must wait a little bit more for some of models that will have slightly slower CPU and better graphics card.

This means the system lacks features such as the Blu-ray drive found on the A versions but instead features a more powerful GeForce 9800M mobile graphics. Even though it is performance oriented with the high speed Core 2 Duo, ASUS decided to use DDR2 memory to cut down on costs but it also holds back the system in memory intensice applications. Overall, a good system for computer gaming but might not be as good for general purpose computing.

The ASUS G71G-Q1 ($2,000 street) is close to the bleeding edge, packing features like an Intel quad-core processor, a Blu-ray reader, and cavernous hard drives. It's almost the total package, but it falls short on the one thing that matters most to gamers: graphics. Although the Nvidia GeForce 9800M GS card it comes with is considered a very good gaming card, there are systems that deliver higher frame rates for about the same price. The ASUS G71G-Q1 makes a perfect media center or desktop replacement laptop, but if frame rates are paramount for you, there are systems that carry better graphics cards.

A Dream for Gamers? With the G71GX, Asus has a 17 inch notebook in its range, which is aimed especially at gamers with its strong components such as the Core 2 Duo T9550 and the Geforce GTX 260M. However, it should also attract entertainment fans with its Blu-Ray drive at the same time. Read in this review if this difficult straddle can be achieved.

We've seen several gaming laptops from Asus in the past year and the company hopes its G71GX will be its most complete machine to date. Overall, the G71GX is an impressive laptop at a good price. It's not the ultimate gaming machine, but the custom chassis places it above the Novatech and Cyberpower when it comes to design. It can't match the style and quality of the Alienware, however.

With a quad-core processor and one of Nvidia’s latest graphics chipsets under the hood, the Asus G71Gx certainly looks up to the challenge. As it is, while the G71Gx’s specification promises much, there’s just no way around the fact it doesn’t quite deliver where it should. Mobile quad-core processors might sound like an attractive prospect on paper but, at this early stage, a dual-core CPU and capable graphics chipset – such as in the G60Vx – remains a far more cost-efficient solution.

Asus: ASUSTEK Bilgisayar anonym şirketi Tayvan asıllı uluslararası bir şirket olup; anakart, grafik kartları, optic sürücüler, PDAlar, bilgisayar monitörleri, notebooklar, serverlar, network ürünleri, bilgisayar kasa ve bileşenleri üretmektedir. Şirketin 2007 gelirleri 6.9 milyar dolar olarak açıklanmıştır. ASUS aynı zamanda diğer üreticiler için bileşenlerde üretmektedir. 2008 yılında Eee PC netbook dünyasında büyük bir patlama gerçekleştirmiştir.
Çok seçici olmayan oyunlar akıcı olarak oynanabilir. Ama düşük çözünürlüğe ve dolayısıyla düşük detaylara hazır olun. Yine de bu kartlar ofis ve video görüntüleme (HD Videolar içinde uygun olduğu söylenebilir) konularında yeterli performansı veriyor.
NVIDIA GeForce 9700M GT: 8700M GT serisinin yeni versiyonu ve teknik olarak 9600M GT’nin saat hızı arttırılmış hali. Geliştirilmiş video motoru sayesinde HD videoların (PureVideo HD – VP2) decoding işlemi, HybridPower, Cuda, PhysX gibi işlemleri ve teknolojileri desteklemekte.

Intel Core 2 Duo: Daha fazla tüketime ihtiyaç duymayan ve daha uzun aktarım hatlarına sahip Core Duo ve Core Solo işlemcilerin yeni nesli. Core Duo dizanynına ek olarak 4. bir decoder, güçlendirilmiş SSE unitesi ve ek Aritmetik mantık ünitesi ( ALU ) mevcut.
Core 2 Duo Laptop işlemcileri masa üstü işlemcilerle benzer. Sadece daha düşük voltaj ile çalışmakta (0.95 Volt - 1188 Volt) ve daha düşük frontside bus saat hızına sahip (1066 MHz karşı 667 MHz). Aynı hıza sahip olsalarda laptop Core 2 Duo işlemcileri masa üstü versiyonlarına oranla daha düşük frontside bus ve yavaş hard disklerinden ötürü 20 - 25% daha yavaş.
T9400: Core 2 Duo P9500 ile aynı performansa ama daha yüksek güç tüketimine sahip işlemci.
T9550: T9550 orta sınıf P9600 ile benzer özellikler taşıyan Core 2 Duo işlemci. T9550’nin performansı 2009 yılına ait çoğu oyun ve uygulama için yeterli.
