Buying a gaming notebook is always a balancing act — on the one hand, should one spend more money and get a major kick-butt gaming notebook, or spend just enough to get a machine that you can play some current games on. The problem is that no matter how good your gaming notebook is now, it’s not going to be able to play games that will be coming out a year-and-a-half from now. Such is the case for the MSI GX620 — in reality, it’s actually a good example of a very capable gaming notebook and one that can play most last-generation games well, but not all current generation games.

Finally, the speaker quality is what you would expect from a notebook - pretty poor. However using the 7.1 channel SPDIF audio output and a good speaker system, the speaker quality is fairly trival. Besides, what self respecting gamer doesn’t use headphones anyway?

If we consider gaming performances, the winner is decided by nuances and better optimization for one or other graphics card. That means, that in some games better frame rate will have GX720 and in some GT735. Processor overclock sounds like great possibility but it results with little improvements in games because bottle neck is actually graphics cards. What model you will choose depends on your budget, but one thing is for sure: you will get very quality notebook with enviably performances as in games as in all other segments.

Since MSI's netbook is called the Wind, I thought that the company might launch a gaming laptop called the Hurricane. Though it's not actually called that, the MSI GX720 ($1,800 street) looks as if it were ready to take the gaming market by storm. There are far better gaming laptops in the market, but the GX720 is priced well below them and has a copious blend of media center features.

The MSI GX720 is a reasonably priced ($1,799) midlevel gaming notebook with some cool features, including one-touch overclocking, power-management switches, and a robust audio system.Although it did a decent job of handling our DX9 gaming tests, however, its DX10 performance was disappointing. Gamers are right to be skeptical about an $800 gaming notebook. Though the MSI GX630 may appeal to budget-conscious casual gamers who occasionally fire up a round of Civilization, its keyboard and endurance leave a bit to be desired. Even casual gamers are likely try to play Call of Duty, Prince of Persia, or Mirror’s Edge, and on this system, they’ll be disappointed. Those looking for an inexpensive gaming system will be better served with the (admittedly more expensive) $1,399 Gateway P-7811FX.

The MSI GT 725 could replace a desktop PC, especially if you connect your own input devices (which, after playing with the keyboard, I highly recommend). Its 2-hour, 49-minute battery lets it behave as an actual portable system, versus competing laptops that need to leap between outlets. And its gaming benchmarks are strong. But even though its screen is refreshingly free of glare, its slightly muted color and distinct sweet spot disappoint. Overall, the GT 725 is a competent gaming and entertainment laptop. It'll fill other roles when needed, but it seems like itself only when you're shooting 3D aliens or playing movies.

It too packs a turbo button, which can, according to MSI, make its already powerful quad-core CPU up to 20 per cent faster than it would be in a standard laptop. It's also very well-suited to gaming and has Blu-ray playback capability, meaning it could be the ideal desktop replacement. The MSI GT725 is a fast and well-equipped laptop, with a relatively low price tag. It's definitely worth considering if gaming or media playback is a priority, but there's no getting away from the fact its closest rivals, such as the Alienware M17, are more aesthetically pleasing.

MSI's GT725 proves gaming laptops don't have to to be heavy or expensive. The MSI GT725 is a laptop with a ATI Mobility Radeon 4850 inside. How unusual. It seems odd to us that so many manufacturers have stuck with Nvidia's mobile GPUs since this chipset was launched, because this AMD chip really is a remarkable piece of silicon. There's really very little to fault with this machine. It's got the power and the impressive battery life. If you're looking for a laptop for gaming, you've just found it.

If ever there was a notebook that gave mixed feelings, MSI's GT725 is it. On the one hand, its potency in various usage scenarios has us going back for more - perhaps due to the fact that it scores higher in the performance stakes than my own desktop PC. On the other hand, we're anything but dazzled by the system's supposedly gamer-orientated aesthetics. Herein - literally - lies the problem. What's inside the MSI GT725 has us very impressed, the hardware combination is exactly what we'd look for in a high-end notebook. Intel's 2.53GHz processor makes light work of day-to-day tasks, 4GB of RAM is more than ample for most users, and the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4850 is on the cutting edge of notebook graphics. Still, MSI's target market is the gamer that seeks acceptable frame rates on the go. Here's a notebook that scores 9,943 on 3DMark '06, and they generally don't come much quicker than that.

MSI: Micro-Star International (MSI), Tayvan kökenli 1986 yılından beri hizmet veren ve özellikle masa üstü bilgisayar anakartları ile bilinen bir markadır. MSI aynı zamanda grafik kartları, barebone PCler, notebooklar, network ürünleri, serverlar, multimedia ürünlerde tasarlayıp üretmektedir. Çok seçici olmayan oyunlar akıcı olarak oynanabilir. Ama düşük çözünürlüğe ve dolayısıyla düşük detaylara hazır olun. Yine de bu kartlar ofis ve video görüntüleme (HD Videolar içinde uygun olduğu söylenebilir) konularında yeterli performansı veriyor.

NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT: 8600M GT’nin yeni serisi ve 65nm lik üretim sayesinde kart aynı tüketim oranları ile daha yüksek saat hızına sahip ( tabi ki daha hızlıda). Dahası geliştirilmiş video işlemcisine (VP3) ve enerji tasarrufu için (9100M G ile kullanıldığında) HybridPower desteğine sahip.

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3850:

55nm teknolojisi ile üretilmiş DirectX 10.1 desteğine sahip DirectX 10.1 destekli masaüstü HD 3850’nin saat hızı düşürülmüş versiyonu. Performansı 880 GTS ve GTX arasında tahmin edilmekte, bu yüzden Call of Duty 4 gibi oyunlarda performansı gayet iyi. Avivo Video motoru işlemciye HD videoların işlenmesinde yardımcı olmakta.
