We like the idea of a workstation laptop with a high-resolution screen: more pixels means more desktop real estate, which means more windows and applications open at the same time, and the ability to work with images and videos in finer detail. Toshiba’s panel has the highest resolution we’ve seen on a laptop of this size, and it’s got exceptional accuracy, contrast, brightness and black point figures that sneak ahead of the Dell as its also-excellent screen. But it also suffers from the same scaling issues as every other high-resolution Windows notebook. Some applications are blurry or pixelated, others can’t be seen without squinting, and it makes for an irritating experience. Until third-parties fix these issues, we’d still prefer to work on a 1080p panel.

The 15-inch Apple MacBook Pro remains our Editors' Choice for high-end desktop-replacement laptops, largely due to its superb battery life and superior performance, but even the MacBook's Retina Display can't offer true 4K images. That makes the Toshiba Satellite P50T-BST2N01 the system to get if you need 4K UHD and nothing less.

Otherwise, it's hard to complain much about the Satellite P50T-BST2N01. As we said, we wish there was more 4K content to enjoy on the system—Netflix is streaming a show or two in 4K for lucky users whose ISPs pump out 25Mbps, but that's like a drop of water to a thirsty crowd. As much as we dislike drooling and mumbling, "It's amazing; you just have to see it" in reviews, that's what we find ourselves mumbling.

Even without the first-on-the-market 4K display, the Satellite P50t is a very nice premium 15-inch laptop, with a big touchpad, large hard drive, and decent AMD graphics. Would I pay $1,599 for that? Probably not, but it's not completely out of the ballpark. Adding that amazing-looking 4K screen is a big extra and definitely makes this a conversation piece, while still being a useful all-around midsize laptop.

The Toshiba P50-C can easily challenge most of the notebooks at this price range with its robust construction and sleek aluminum design. It’s also light and thin so travelers – note that. We also liked the keyboard and touchpad, but we are baffled by the lack of LED keyboard backlight. You will actually be pretty surprised by how few notebooks don’t have LED backlight at the upper-mid-range and we are disappointed by the Satellite P50 not having one. Also, the port placement and the main exhaust vent are a sign of impractical design due to the extra heat generated by the GTX 950M that blows into the user’s arm during heavy load. The port placement will obstruct normal usage with an external mouse if you connect more devices into the USB port and an external monitor via the HDMI.

The Satellite P50t has high-end touches on a midrange model, such as UHD IGZO screen and nVidia gaming graphics, plus some metal machining to suggest premium build. It’s let down by a reflective screen and lousy battery life. Despite underwhelming benchmark results it should be speedy enough for general duties.

Last time the Toshiba Satellite P50-C had problems with the bottlenecking processor, but, this time around, the laptop features high-performance, quad-core, high-voltage Core i7-6700HQ that’s running the show pretty smoothly. Again paired with GeForce GTX 950M GPU and 8GB of RAM, the system offers fairly good performance (good for gaming) packed inside a semi-aluminum body with thin profile (22.5 mm) and low weight (2.07 kg). It even rocks relatively robust construction, comfortable keyboard (lacking LED backlight, though) and a good touchpad. It’s a really good choice for a daily driver and it’s good enough for carrying it around.

Oyun oynamak isteyen kullanıcılar için en son seçenek. Yeni oyunlar bu kartlarda çalışacaktır, ama sadece düşük detaylar ve orta çözünürlükte.

NVIDIA GeForce GT 745M: 28nm ile üretilen Kepler mimarisi tabanlý GeForce GT 700M serisi orta sýnýf grafik kartý.

NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M:

GeForce GT 700M serisi orta sınıf grafik kartı. 28nm ile üretilmekte olup Kepler mimarisi tabanlı.

AMD Radeon R9 M265X:

GCN mimarisi tabanlı GDDR5 bellekli orta sınıf mobil grafik kartı.

NVIDIA GeForce 930M:

Maxwell tabanlı alt orta sınıf grafik kartı. GeForce 840M tabanlı olup 384 shadera sahip ancak saat hızı daha düşük.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M:

GeForce GTX 900M serisine ait orta sınıf Maxwell tabanlı grafik kartı.

Çok seçici olmayan oyunlar akıcı olarak oynanabilir. Ama düşük çözünürlüğe ve dolayısıyla düşük detaylara hazır olun. Yine de bu kartlar ofis ve video görüntüleme (HD Videolar içinde uygun olduğu söylenebilir) konularında yeterli performansı veriyor.

Intel HD Graphics 4000:

Üst sınıf Ivy Bridge modellerinde kullanılan işlemci grafik kartı. Farklı modellerde farklı saat hızları ile geldiğinden değişken bir performans alınabilir.

Intel HD Graphics 4600:

Birçok Haswell işlemci modelinde bulunan dahili grafik kartı. İşlemciye bağlı olmakla beraber farklı saat hızları ile gelmekte.

Sadece eski oyunlar bu grafik kartları ile akıcı bir şekilde (eğer yüksek bir sistem gereksinimi duymuyorlarsa) oynanabilir. Bu kategorideki paylaşımlı grafik çekirdekleri az ısınma ve daha uzun batarya ömrü gibi avantajlara sahip. Ofis, internet, şekil düzenleme ve video editleme gibi işlemler herhangi bir kısıtlama olmadan bu grafik kartları ile yapılabilir.

Intel HD Graphics 3000:

2011 ilk çeyreğinde Intel Sandy Bridge işlemcileri ile (Core ix-2xxxx) gelmesi planlanan dahili grafik kartı.

Skylake tabanlı ULV dual-core işlemci. Dahili HD Graphics 520 grafik kartına sahip, 14nm ile üretilmekte.

6700HQ:
