All in all, the vivo Y73 is a viable choice for consumers looking for a sub-P15,000 phone that can be relied on as a daily driver. It’s got a gorgeous screen, a good triple-camera setup, decent internals, and a premium feel. But if you really want an ultrawide lens, the vivo V21e is the next logical choice. At just P1,000 more, you get an identical looking handset but with an ultrawide camera, a more powerful 44MP selfie shooter, and a Snapdragon 720G chip.

Our review of the vivo Y73 made us feel that the brand decided to bring over a trimmed-down version of last year’s V21e to the Philippines with downgrades on the cameras and a different processor. Despite that, the Y73 is a competitive 4G-only mid-range phone for under Php 15k–especially if you realize that a number of phones at the under Php 15k price range omit 4K video recording. One reason why people might hesitate buying the Y73 is that the V21 5G is now priced at under Php 20k–for a Php 5k premium, you get OIS on both the main and selfie cameras, a higher resolution selfie shooter, a 90hz display, and a 5G-ready processor.

Vivo could’ve used a slightly powerful SoC or from the Dimensity series (at the least) that would have opened not just faster performance but 5G support along with other pros to consider. Vivo Y73 2021 has an average battery as well at 4000 mAh which isn’t small but it is still an average size compared to other Android smartphones out there.
